About 2D-1N Mount Rinjani Summit Trek

Start an exhilarating two-day trip that will lead you to Mount Rinjani, the island’s highest peak. Hike to the top of this active volcano, spend the night at the Sembalun Crater Rim base camp, and experience a breathtaking dawn at the majestic 3,726-meter peak. The route begins and ends in the Sembalun settlement, which is east of Mount Rinjani. This hike is appropriate for novice and seasoned hikers, as well as novices and physically fit kids.

Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival Day

Waiting for Your Arrival: We’ll be eagerly awaiting your arrival at the confirmed location.
Transfer to Our Office: Our driver will then take you to our office in Senaru village.
Check-In: Upon your arrival at our office, you’ll complete the necessary payment and check-in to your accommodation.
Explore Senaru Village and Waterfall: Following this, our experienced tour guide will accompany you on a leisurely exploration of Senaru village. If you arrive in Senaru village before 3 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a renowned waterfall, one of Lombok Island’s cherished tourist attractions.
Evening Briefing: In the evening, we will provide you with a comprehensive explanation of the program, our trekking guide will meet you and provide a detailed explanation of the hiking plan you’ve chosen.

Day 1: Senaru - Sembalun - Crater Rim

Begin the day with an early breakfast at your accommodation.
Pick up at 6:30 AM in Senaru and 7:00 AM in Sembalun.
Proceed to the National Geopark office in Sembalun for registration.
Start the trek in the open grassland of the Sembalun valley, passing through rainforests and open terrain.
Lunch at Post 2 after about 3 hours of trekking.
Continue to ascend, reaching the steeper part of the climb with panoramic views over the Sembalun valley.
Arrive at the Sembalun Crater Rim base camp after another 4 hours of trekking.
Enjoy dinner with a stunning sunset view over Mount Rinjani, the crater, and the lake.

Day 2: Crater Rim - Summit - Sembalun

Wake up at 01:30 AM for a pre-breakfast.
Leave most equipment at the base camp, carrying only essentials like a flashlight, camera, water, and snacks.
Embark on a 3-hour climb to the summit, guided by your experienced guide.
Experience a challenging ascent with rewarding views.
Reach the summit and witness a beautiful sunrise.
Descend back to the base camp and enjoy breakfast.
Hike down for about 1.5 hours to continue the 6-hour descent through the Sembalun valley savannah.
Take short breaks and have lunch during the descent.
Return to Sembalun village, where transportation will take you back to your accommodation or your next destination on Lombok.
